What is the function of corrosion inhibitors?

Corrosion inhibitors are a general term for inorganic and organic substances that have the ability to inhibit metal corrosion. Its function is to slow down the corrosion of metals during the pickling process, ensuring that the cleaned metal does not suffer from the corrosion and damage of acid solution during the pickling and descaling process. When selecting corrosion inhibitors, multiple factors should be considered: type of chemical cleaning medium, concentration of medium, pH value, temperature range, flow condition of medium, concentration of oxidizing ions in medium, properties of chemical substances and their pollution to the environment, metal materials and initial surface state of the cleaned equipment, etc. After adding the corrosion inhibitor, it should be ensured that the corrosion rate of the metal during acid washing does not exceed 10g/(㎡ h).
