Industrial wastewater has the characteristics of complex composition, high pollutant concentration, and h3 toxicity, which is difficult to treat. Different industries produce different types of wastewater, such as printing and dyeing wastewater, electroplating wastewater, chemical wastewater, and food processing wastewater. Water treatment chemicals are widely used in industrial wastewater treatment, which can effectively remove pollutants and meet the discharge standards. This article focuses on the application of water treatment chemicals in several typical industrial wastewater treatments.
Printing and dyeing wastewater contains a large amount of dyes, auxiliaries, and organic matter, which have high chroma and COD. Coagulants and flocculants are commonly used to remove suspended solids and dyes. For example, polyaluminum chloride (PAC) and polyacrylamide (PAM) are used to aggregate dye molecules and suspended particles into flocs, which are removed through sedimentation. In addition, oxidants (such as hydrogen peroxide, ozone, and sodium hypochlorite) are used to degrade organic matter and decolorize wastewater. Electroplating wastewater contains heavy metal ions such as copper, nickel, and chromium, which are highly toxic and persistent. Chelating agents (such as EDTA, DTPA, and sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate) are used to chelate heavy metal ions, forming stable chelates that are easy to separate and remove.
Chemical wastewater has complex composition and high concentration of organic pollutants. In addition to coagulants and flocculants, advanced oxidation technologies (such as Fenton oxidation, ozone oxidation) are often used, and corresponding chemicals (such as ferrous sulfate, hydrogen peroxide) are added to improve the oxidation efficiency. Food processing wastewater contains a large amount of organic matter and oil, which are easy to cause water eutrophication. Coagulants, flocculants, and oil removal agents are used to remove oil and suspended solids, and biological treatment agents are used to degrade organic matter. In industrial wastewater treatment, the selection of water treatment chemicals should be based on the characteristics of wastewater, and the treatment process should be optimized to achieve efficient and economical treatment.
